This is an unusually large tall English Victorian silver sugar caster sifter. The body of baluster shape with ribbed spiral lobbing. Top with gadoom border and scroll finial. Scrolls decoration circling the base. Hallmarked Birmingham 1889. Makers mark "S.W.S" for Samuel Walton Smith a listed English silversmith found in all major reference books. Height 10½ inches. Width 4inches. Weight approx. 14oz regular oz (approx. 397grams). In excellent condition consistent with an antique piece from this age period. No dents. No dings. This English antique sterling silver sugar caster sifter has been cleaned but not over polished.
